Daniel Kabrinski's BattleForce 2 Record Sheets
on: 28 Jan, 2007, 00:42:01 am
I was bored, so I typed up some BattleForce 2 record sheets in MS word.  I'll make a Comstar version later.

Board Games

It's "Board Game" and it is specifically "Open discussion about Classic BattleTech: A game of armored combat!"

I'm done arguing about this.  If it is wrong a moderator will move it.

Now that it was moved, any constructive criticism?

Well, I applaud the effort that went in to making them--having done essentially the same thing before the advent of HMPro.

They are very clean and professional looking.

However, most players that utilize BF2 will likely have HMPro (trying to track down all of the myriad units through books is quite a task), making this a moot product.

However, for that niche that does not own HMPro and wishes to play BF2, this should be fairly useful.  Easier than photo-copies, at any rate.

Like Failure16 said, most people use HMP to do their BF2 sheets automatically.  That said, it's a good first attempt.  If you want to further automate things and expand your knowledge of Word, I'd open up the forms toolbar and start messing around with text forms.  If you add a text form of a certain size and then lock the form, people can write in only the form area much as they would with editable pdfs.  It's a pretty powerful Word function.  There's also some checkboxes and things to play with if you want to try those.  I don't know if there's anything that would conveniently automate the filling in of armor circles from inside Word.  That one's a little tougher.  Overall, though, a good clean construction.
